Master's Project

As a part of the Strategic Communication program at Gaylord College, Master's students can choose to complete a professional project in place of a thesis. For my project, I chose to do an advertising campaign for a client of my choice. As a future advertising practitioner, I felt the project route would help me more in the long run by honing my understanding of campaigns and the process that goes into them.

Under a committee of three of my professors, I have spent this school year creating a social media campaign for Stone Sisters Organics, a local company that sells organic pizza crusts.

They asked me to create a campaign that targets Gen Z college students. After months of research on Gen Z, organics, and Construal Level Theory, I am proud to say that I am nearly at the finish line of this labor of love. Stay tuned for more as I finish my project, but please enjoy a preview of my project for now!

Cancel Culture Research

In the Fall of 2022, I started working on my Master's degree as an accelerated student in Gaylord College's 4+1 program. Over the past semester, I have learned so much about what it means to be a graduate level student. For one of my classes, my co-author Amanda Withrow and I wrote a research paper on cancel culture and it's long term effects. We submitted our paper to the International Public Relations Research Conference and we were selected to present our research in March at their annual conference. Additionally, our paper was selected as the winner of the University of Miami Top Student Paper Award. As my first graduate paper I am both proud and excited to continue my upper level education.

You can read the paper here. Additionally, here's a simplified flyer that covers some of the main points from our research. This is what we are using to present at the conference.
